KENNETT SQUARE PRESCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY FINE ART PRESCHOOL PORTRAITS

Fine Art Preschool Portraits in Kennett Square, PA

At Playful Dove Photography, I believe preschool photos should feel personal and thoughtfully created. That's why I work with only a handful of preschools in Kennett Square and the surrounding Southeastern PA area each year.

Staying small is intentional. It means more thoughtful attention to detail for every session, from working with little ones at their own pace to capturing genuine expressions instead of forced smiles. You still get the reliability and professionalism you'd expect from a larger operation, but with a level of care and artistry that's hard to find at scale.

For me, it comes down to this: fewer schools means better photos and a better experience, for the families I photograph and the preschools I partner with.

Why Choose Fine Art School Portraits?

  • Authenticity: Every child is different, so I take my cues from them. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where they can just be themselves, and that’s when the best expressions happen naturally.

  • Timelessness: Because I keep things simple with clean backgrounds and no trendy props or backdrops, these portraits hold up beautifully over time. Parents will look back on them years from now and still love what they see.

  • Individuality: Every child has their own personality, and my goal is to capture what makes them uniquely themselves rather than fitting them into a one size fits all pose.

What services do you offer?

How is a fine art school portrait different from traditional school photos?

2

With traditional school photos, families usually get one pose and one choice. My approach gives each child several images to choose from, presented in both color and black and white, so families can pick the ones that feel most like their child. The portraits are taken against clean, simple backgrounds and the sessions are relaxed and unhurried. No stiff poses and no forced smiles. I also offer boutique print options like canvas gallery wraps alongside digital files for families who want to print and keep their photos for years to come.

There is no cost to the school and no sitting fee for families. Parents only pay when they choose to place an order, and all of that is handled online. There is no envelope collection, no cash handling and no chasing down orders.

What does it cost the school?

What is the school responsible for?

4

Before picture day I ask for a student roster and appreciate any help getting information out to families about what to expect. On picture day itself I may ask for a parent volunteer or an available staff member to help keep things moving. My goal is always to keep classroom disruption to a minimum. Once the orders come in, the school distributes them and that is really all there is to it.

Do you provide extras like composite class photos or yearbook images?

5

Yes, absolutely. Composite class photos are available and I also provide the school with any images needed for yearbooks, staff directories or websites if requested.

How do families access their photos?

6

After picture day, every family receives a private online gallery. From there, they can view the portraits and download or print their favorites. Everything is handled online for ease and convenience.

How many students can you photograph?

7

I work best with smaller school communities where the experience can stay personal and unhurried. If you are wondering whether your school might be a good fit, just reach out and I am happy to talk through the details.

When do you book school portraits?

8

I can schedule sessions throughout the school year. A lot of schools prefer the fall but spring or another time of year works just as well depending on what fits your community best.

I offer a variety of a-la-carte products to fit everyone's budget. See below. (*please note, prices are subject to change).
