Playful Dove Photography is coming to your school!

Picture day is just around the corner! My name is Kate, and I am the school portrait photographer for Playful Dove Photography. I am thrilled to be creating fine art portraits of your child this year. My goal is to make photo day simple for the school and a joyful experience for families, while providing portraits that are timeless and authentic.

What is a fine art school portrait?

Fine Art School Portraits are a modern approach to school photography. Instead of stiff poses, props, or distracting backgrounds, children are photographed against a clean backdrop with natural expressions. I encourage kids to be themselves, so portraits feel genuine and reflect who they really are.

What to expect on photo day

Each class will come to the portrait area together. Every child will spend about one minute with me while I capture several natural expressions. The process is quick and comfortable, designed to make kids feel at ease and keep the day moving smoothly for the school.

What should my child wear?

Solid colors photograph best, though a small print can work too. I'd steer clear of large logos, busy patterns, or neon colors, since they tend to distract from your child's portrait. Since every photo is taken from the shoulders up, the top half of their outfit is what matters most.

How will I view my child’s images?

Within two weeks of picture day, you'll receive an email with a link to your child's gallery. Each child has their own password-protected album with several images to choose from.

How does ordering work?

Families order directly from the online gallery. Prints, digital files, and other products are all available à la carte, with no pre-purchased packages, so you only buy what you truly love. The gallery stays open for 14 days, so please make sure your order is placed before it closes.

When will I receive my portraits?

Digital files are delivered instantly by email as soon as your purchase is complete. Print orders are delivered directly to the school within three weeks of the gallery closing and sent home with students.

All tangible products are produced by a high-quality professional print lab, ensuring your portraits are beautifully printed and made to last. Please note: professional prints may look different than those produced by consumer labs. Our lab delivers true-to-life colors, accurate tones, and archival quality.
